Tasks
We are looking for an experienced, analytical and business-minded professional who will take ownership of investment decisions, lead the evaluation of new business and acquisition opportunities, and act as a trusted analytical partner to senior management.
The Senior Investment & Business Analyst will serve as the key analytical and advisory resource for Retail Business Development, combining advanced financial modeling with acquisition and development expertise, market intelligence, and data management. This role carries end-to-end responsibility for investment and expansion decision support - from opportunity screening through indicative offers to full business plan development - and requires the seniority to present conclusions directly to senior management and the Board.
What will be your roles and responsibilities?
- Build complex business case models
- Develop valuation frameworks and scenarios for strategic decision-making
- Prepare indicative offers and full business plans for new business, expansion and acquisition opportunities
- Support M&A and expansion initiatives with quantified analysis
- Conduct regular market research (sales volumes, market share, competitor activity) across CEE markets
- Prepare management and Board-level materials
- Act as a key owner of business development KPIs and contribute to BI/reporting improvements
- Collaborate with Finance, IT and BI teams on data automation and reporting processes
Requirements
You are the ideal candidate if you have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
- 5–8 years of experience in investment analysis, M&A, FP&A or similar analytical roles
- Demonstrated experience with acquisition/development business cases, indicative offers and business plan development
- Proven ability to independently build complex financial models and business cases from scratch, with advanced Excel knowledge
- Experience with BI tools
- Confidence presenting to senior management/Board level
- Structured, detail-oriented and proactive mindset
- Business fluency in English and Hungarian
- Willingness to travel occasionally within the region
- Additional CEE languages are a strong plus
